Anaerobic exercise

While all exercise benefits the heart and lungs, anaerobic exercise provides fewer cardiovascular health benefits and burns fewer calories than aerobic exercise. However, it is more effective for building muscle and increasing strength than aerobic exercise.

Training in agility seeks to enhance a person's ability to maintain control while accelerating, decelerating, and changing direction. In tennis, for instance, agility training enables a player to maintain court control by facilitating a speedy recovery after each stroke.
